Lime in a hand

Trying to find the bewildered animal searching in darkness – free from subjugation.

Plugs and soap don’t care to fix you.
Fighting traits, mutate inside you.

Chairs and plates don’t want to feed you
Desperate thoughts, reside within you

Cars and forks don’t want to help you
Secret endeavour, destined to kill you

People and pears don’t really love you
Elixir power, the green grass beside you

What is the point of the point
When the point is the point
You want people to understand
So they too can make a point
That confirms the point
You did not want to be the point.

Swallowing screens, endless glow
Data loaded apps, seismic flow

Overdose again, hand me a bowl
Very low battery, peace to my soul

Dumb and weary, it’s time for a fix
Power me up, I’ll try another mix

Sick once again, heed my advice
Get to sleep, kill this stupid device

Distant memories, look there’s more

Spoon fed guilt, deep rooted tree
Warning lights, trapped at sea

Give up this toil, surrender to fate
Colourful spectrum, healer of hate

Troubled thoughts, bleakest sound
Go ahead scream, lost not found

What contrast, what difference, what identity.

What are you doing, what are you thinking, what are you feeling.

Where do you live, where do you come from, who are you?

I am a contrast.

You can travel and not know where you’re going.

You can go North and not know if you’ve missed your turn.

Don’t think of where you’re going until the adventure ends.

Go out and paint, you have a cause

Mixing concoctions, no time to pause

Slap it over here, splash it over there

Whatever you do, do it wth care

Over buildings and hangars, fields of hay

Armoured with brushes, they’ll save the day

‘family portrait’

The Snow settled in shades of white and grey. As the sun slowly set it on fire, it sparkled with colour, and the individual flakes, unique as your finger prints , bound together like magic.

Searching in vain for that elusive hour
Even the mighty, hanker for such power

Take my advice and follow my guide
Go surf the waves, go enjoy the ride

Live in the moment, it’s more than plenty
An extra hour, in case you feel empty

Free yourself from this useless folly|           Listen to your mind, be active and jolly|

Awaken from these chronological woes| Biological markers, they’re not your foes|

Marching to the end, colours begin to fade| Savour each moment, this is your parade|

Striding against the flow, I shout, “please let me go”!

Gesture without demands, a million with both hands.

We fall into a trap of thinking we have control, we think our acts will see us good, but wait, did you forget randomness.

Try to let go a little, appreciate the power of luck, from how it affected you yesterday, to how it will resist your authority tomorrow.

Sand encrusts some themes, and in some way it enhances their portrayal.

‘Graffiti’, for instance, involved the laborious task of stirring sand into colour, working to create the perfect mix to allow for painterly brushstrokes.

The sheer weight of the completed canvas is quite apt to the theme.

Colourful formations and happenings from long ago. My telescopic window, tempts to immerse, taking you deeper, to feel the energy of life.

Boundless  theme, acts as a looking glass, transporting your mind, allowing your adventure to begin.

Oils can be manipulated and added to with ease, reinforcing the malleable nature of this freedom on canvas. Of course, I’m limited on workable space, although lucky to have space to create.

A theme can be born in an instant, yet it takes weeks for it to be visualised.

When an outline helps to determine the form, it doesn’t always need to be excluded from the outcome.

Texture is the inevitable, yet maybe exaggerated, consequence of freedom; I wouldn’t be great with magnolia walls or wallpapering.
